Engr. Dr. Balogun Aizebeoje Vincent is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Edo University Iyamho, Edo State, Nigeria. He is a Chartered Engineer (COREN Registered) and a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), a member of the Institution of Engineering Technology, (IET) UK, American Society of Mechanical Engineers and several other professional associations in Nigeria and overseas. He is a PhD graduate of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. He had both his Postgraduate Diploma (PgD) and Master of Science (MSc) in Design and Manufacturing Management at the London South Bank University, London, United Kingdom and first degree (HND) in Mechanical Engineering (Production option) at the Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna, Nigeria.
Dr. Balogun teaches Applied Mechanics, Material Science, CAD/CAM/CNC Lab, Measurements and Instrumentations and Production Engineering and supervises research projects both at the undergraduate and post graduate levels in Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering and related fields such as sustainable manufacture and carbon footprint. He won the National price for the Committee of Deans of Engineering and Technology (CODET) award 2016 and 2017 competitions. His research area include Designs, Mechatronics, Energy intensity in machining, Energy footprint in manufacturing, processes and resource efficiency, manufacturing systems, reverse engineering, sustainable manufacture and 3D prototyping and rendering.
Counting on the valuable experiences gained at conferences and seminars, he published journal articles extensively in the area of sustainable machining, energy intensity of mechanical machining, carbon footprint of manufacturing processes, Mechatronics system designs and process optimisation. He is currently a reviewer for Journal of Cleaner Production, Journal of Engineering Manufacture and other international publishers. He is an industrialist that synergises academics, learning and industries into one sustainable and developing platform within the classroom environment. He is published with Elsiever the major global academic publishing platform and had research collaborations with the University of Manchester UK, Andalas University, Padang, Indonesia and Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology, Singapore among others.
His philosophy of learning is to emphasize critical thinking and the need to consider engineering within its larger social, historical, and intellectual contexts.
