Edo University Iyamho has bagged ‘’A Most Innovative Top Best Valuable University in Nigeria, 2017, award. The award was given to the University by the ‘’Northern Achievers International Magazine’’ in Kaduna.
The Magazine also recognized the visionary leadership of the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Emmanuel Aluyor. The Vice Chancellor was honoured with, ‘’Most Outstanding Best Performed Vice Chancellor Award in Nigeria, 2017’’.
Receiving the award on behalf of the University and the Vice Chancellor, Dr Vincent Balogun who is also the Dean of Student of the University, thanked the organizers of the event for recognizing the contributions of Edo University Iyamho and the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Aluyor to the development of Educationin Nigeria within two years of existence.
In a formal ceremony organized by Edo University Management to celebrate the awards, Dr Balogun informed the Staff and Management that, Prince Ola Adeleke, the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of the Magazine told the crowd at Arewa House, Kaduna that the Awards to Edo University Iyamho were based on Merit.
In his comment, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Omodia congratulated Edo University, and the Vice Chancellor for the awards stating that the University has achieved a great feat in innovations in terms of acquisitions of modern teaching facilities, infrastructural and manpower development.
Also speaking, the Registrar, Dr (Mrs) Isoken Ogboro congratulated the Vice Chancellor for the awards, saying that Edo University will continue to remain on top. She also attributed the success to the quality of staff in the institution.
Other senior staff members of the University also took their turn to congratulate the University and the Vice Chancellor for the well-deserved awards.
Responding, the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof Aluyor said that, the honour was not for him but to the entire staff and Management of the University for their Tireless Contributions to the development of the University urging them to look at the ivy league universities as models.
He also thanked the Founding Visitor of the University, Comrade Adam Oshiomhole and the Present Visitor, Mr Godwin Obaseki for their candid support to the University.
