Abstract

The reliability of electrical power supply of NEPA in Sapele, for a period of seven years (January 1996 - December 2002) was investigated. The reliability parameters was accessed using both the quantitative and qualitative analysis. Enerhen - Agbarho 33kV feeder had the highest availability of 94.31% while Sapele town and Amukpe 6.6kV had the least availability of 85.99% and 86.03% respectively which were far below the international standard of 100%. The study revealed that most of the outages / faults where largely due to earth fault which accounted for over 50% of the total fault for the period under study.
